The Pre-Approval Process
After carefully determining your budget and calculating how much you can afford to purchasing your next home, the most important step in the home buying process is obtaining a preapproval letter from a lender. The process of getting a preapproval from a lender typically involves submitting a mortgage application and providing various documents related to income, employment, and credit history. The lender will review the information provided, and may also perform a credit check and verify employment. Based on this information, the lender will determine how much they are willing to lend, as well as the interest rate and terms of the loan. If the borrower is approved, they will receive a preapproval letter, which they can use to demonstrate their ability to obtain financing when making an offer on a home.
